Former Okotoks Outfielder Named Player of the Year
San Diego Christian’s Cade Gotta put up outrageous numbers this season and was recently named the Golden State Athletic Conference (NAIA) Player of the Week. Cade, a member of the 2013 Okotoks Dawgs, was also named to the All-GSAC Team.
Cade is a senior from San Diego and he attended Riverside City College before transferring to San Diego Christian. He stands in at about 6 feet 1 and he weighs 190 pounds. He played his high school baseball at Santa Fe Christian High School.
Gotta started the season off by smacking two hits in his first game and he hasn’t slowed down yet. He led the conference in batting average (.409), hits (79), total bases (131) and stolen bases (38). He slugged at the ridiculous clip of .679 and his on base percentage was .531 this season. He scored a team-high 64 runs and drove in 30 for the Hawks. He smacked 13 doubles, led the team with 6 triples and he also led the Hawks with 9 homers. Last, but certainly not least, he led SDCC with 44 walks.
Cade spent the summer of 2011 with the Corvallis Knights, and last summer he was a member of the Okotoks Dawgs (WMBL). He had a batting average of .318, with 39 runs scored last summer. He also hit .367, with 5 runs batted in during the playoffs for the Dawgs.
