University of Washington’s Brandon Choate had a very productive 2014 season for the Huskies. The big right-hander from Lynnwood, WA went 4-1 and had a 2.54 ERA in 28.1 innings pitched. He appeared in 21 games and was used solely out of the bullpen this past season.
Brandon pitched for the Corvallis Knights of the West Coast League this summer. He was the Knights closer this season and he wound up picking up 9 saves. He appeared in 18 games, won two and he had a 1.11 ERA in 24.1 innings of work. He allowed just 18 hits, walked just 4 and he fanned 19 in his All-Star season. Perfect Game ranked Brandon as the 10th best prospect in the league.
